Love it!  ROFL, and we both bought Volkswagens!  My daughter has a VW Beetle and I got the 2015 VW Passat.  Love having Sirius radio!

Re: Bought my First Car Today!!

Congrats on your first car, you did all the right things.  Going through NFCU and sticking with them rather than letting the F&I guy do his thing is a good call.  Establish a long term relationship with them and it will pay off a great deal over the years.  You were also smart to not buy a bunch of add on's.  For your family member, extended warranties rarely pay off, that is the reason they sell them, if they are hell bent on getting one they should go to the dealer and ask the the manufactuer extended warranty.  For instance Honda dealers compete to sell theirs online and vary by over a grand at what they sell them for.  In reality they are better off putting a couple of grand in a savings account and pay for any repairs out of it, there is about a 95% chance that the money will simply sit.  Congrats on the new car

Re: Bought my First Car Today!!

I need to check out my extended warranty.  Thinking about selling/trading and I'm still under the bumper to bumper manufacturer warranty. Pretty sure it was about 3K.  But with every gizmo imaginable and 4wd, it was peace of mind.

2013 Ford Escape Platinum 4WD 2.0  Ecoboost w/factory towing and aftermarket 7way plug with brake controller.
