I had a credit card in good standing with them before my BK7 (filed 12/2012, discharged 4/2013). Anyone ever been approved for their blank check if they burned them in their BK? What kind of rates did you get?

Cap1 doesn't seem to blacklist for having previous bad accounts, so you might be ok. Getting approved will probably depend on your overall credit picture. Having a very recent BK might make it difficult.
@I can confirm that they dont blacklist. I defaulted on a card with them in 2007, and in June of 2012, I needed to buy a car and they pre-approved me @ 14.5% for 18K.... The downside was that it came with the stipulation that the check could not be used to finance any extended warranties. I ended up getting financed by Carmax with a Capital One loan for 18K that allowed the extended warranty to be added & GAP for 0 down, 72 months @ 14.99%
6 months later an idiot ran a stop sign which totalled the car and thankfully I had GAP and the loan was PIF
I was discharged 12/12 and included Capital One in my bankruptcy. I was approved a few months later with a 591 FICO (according to Capital One) for up to 23k with interest rates ranging from 7-10.99% depending on the age of the car. There weren't many stipulations and it was so much easier to negotiate a car. We made the mistake of trying to get a dealership to beat Capital One's rates and they wouldn't offer anything near that.
We negotiated like we were paying cash after that and got a van for $400 under NADA trade in value! I will use Capital One blank check if we ever have to finance again.
Wow, that's good to know. Congrats on your car, lovelylisa! I thought I'd have to rule Cap 1 out since I burned them in the BK and they denied me on their secured cc a few weeks ago. Worth a shot! Thx for all the replies everyone!
