Capital One Approved... Wont use but!...

I took my 2004 Honda Accord in yesterday to have a noice in front right brake (I thought) checked.  I also mentioned my Seat Belt light does not come on and depending if putting seat belt on before car is started my airbag light will not go off, so basically probably no airbags being deployed in accident.

Anyway without actually proceeding to "Look into" seat belt/airbag issue they did find things I was not even close to prepared for.

All said and done about $1700... and that is not including the AT LEAST $200 for this airbag issue but it's electrical so I assume more!!

I bought the car from Carmax about 3ish years ago and it only has 88k miles on it now and my partner signed to refi about 6 or so months ago so I currently owe less then the value!!!

Anyway not thinking I want to sink this kind of money into it I applied for Capital One since I have not seen my auto scores in over 2 years (not sure that Cap1 uses auto fico either though) but in any case:

Approved for $21,600 for 60 months

12.77%

My original Santander Loan for this car from Carmax was 17% so 12% is a great number but my current loan with Navy is 3.5%!!!

I would really love to lease but just not sure... So just wanted to post this if anyone else is looking.

Right now I only know TU Fico from last week and it is 655.

Also it will make you hold for about 1 minute for decision and they couldn't do it in that time so it says it will email within 36 hours or something... I got it in under 2, I think they manual review them on the spot... just emails to log in for decision and terms and documents they will need.

That might not be terrible for a score under 700 with no cosigner. It's hard to say if the extra debt makes more sense than repair costs.

"BEEP" YES!

However, if it is not a lease, probably looking in the $15k range...

You know me and car-math, LOL!

I can't tell if it's an awesome deal or way to feel good about going deeper in debt.

My CU (RBFCU) doesn't do auto leases.  I am surpised Navy does.

Re: Capital One Approved... Wont use but!...

I just got the blank check with all the info, I knew instantly that I wouldn't be using so I didn't overnight or anything like that but I got to final page of it all and it says my EQ is 567!!! WHAT?!

Can't believe I got a 12% with that score. Just not sure what it is... maybe Auto enhance EQ because I don't think any of the dealers I saw pulled that... might need to spend the money and get my EQ Fico on here and make sure it's only beacuse it's auto that it's that terrible... last I knew it was in the 630-650 range.

oh well.

Re: Capital One Approved... Wont use but!...

12% doesn't seem that high with a 567 score.

I've been seriously dreading the car thing but seing what's out there makes it seem a little less stressful. Smiley Happy
