Good Morning - A friend of mine was looking for a car and was wondering if the Chrysler (and other Auto websites) do a hard pull or a soft pull? I was looking around and saw that its mostly a sales gimmick.
Any truth behind this?
Thanks
a few months back i got a pre app for a jeep but i did put my info, it was a sp but i dont know!
I did an App yesterday with my husband as co-buyer. approved for 56K. they gave me a score of 655 auto , my reg fico is over 700. so i guess there is a big difference between the two. I am waiting for them to call me back to find out what the given APR was and terms as they are over an hour away from me with the truck we need for our new tow vehicle. I will post more when they get back to me.
ok so they said they submit to the bank what the dealer thinks the apr should be, he said i fall under 3.99. well go from there.
follow up on Chrysler approval.
So with this Chrysler pre-approval I guess they don't assign an apr until the terms for the vehicle you want are submitted by the dealership. The dealership wouldn't knock off 6K off the model I am after to make the sale. I told him no deal, there is no shortage of car dealers and if I can get approved at one finance company I can get financing elsewhere. we aren't in a bind, I am just doing prep work. I didnt close the deal so I cant say how it worked out to the end, this is as much as I can provide for info.
I have not applied for a car loan in over 15 years and really I hate the thought of financing because I have been buying used PIF for that long as needed, but we are going to come up with a strategy for this I cant PIF 25-35K for used truck. Most likely we will buy used, and get a 3rd party warranty on a used truck when financing . Like Wholesale Warranty or something - their expensive one is the Listed Components Warranty.
Our needs:
1 ton- DRW- Diesel- 4.10 Gears -4X4 -4 door -8 foot bed-6 speed tranny @ at least 325HP(mid 2000's). its a tall order it seems.
we cant sacrifice or "go cheap" for our needs, wish we could it would be easier.
Good luck to those who go through with the financing let us know how it goes.
