I have a 2014 Ram 1500 financed througfh Chrysler Capital. My rate with them is abount 4.5 percent and the trm was for 75 months. I still have about 66 months on my loan. I owe right at 23000 my truck is valued at around 27000.
I have been reading a lot about DCU. My scores are all well over 720 so I dont think that approval would be a issue (of corse I undersdtand there are alway curcumstances) But I was wondering if anyone else had experience with them?
Was it pretty painless? The 2 - 2.76 percent intrest drop would probably be worth the 2 hard pulls and I could also drop my loan down to 60 months and take a few months off my loan which would be nice and it shoouldnt raise my payments at all.
I was also told that I could apply for the DCU VISA with the same app as my car loan? Does anyone know if thats true and can that be done online? If so do I need to do it right away or wait a few days?
Also is it true I have to deposit my entire check or can I just do 500 a month? I have heard both and was wondering if anyone actually knew.
Thanks for any info!
I purchased a new "used" car last December through DCU ($16k loan at 1.49%) and it was painless. I was alsp approved for a Visa, but since I set up my DCU account in November, before the car purchase but in planning for the car purchase, I took a HP for both "loans".
As far as the relationship banking for the best rates, we direct deposit about 75% of my wife's USGov check every two weeks to DCU (less allotment to #1 our local bank, #2 allotment to PenFed) - my check (once a month, also Gov but not typical government employee type check) is NOT direct deposited to DCU but deposited in our local bank. I do pull-push between DCU and my local bank so it's not like they don't know about it.
Not sure a $500 direct deposit will make the grade, but with a free DCU checking account it's pretty easy to transfer money in and out of DCU to any other account.
