Hey, Do you guys think I would have a shot at a auto loan with DCU if not a member?

Re: DCU help

You have to be a member.

They pull Equifax and I think there's a minimum score needed, but if so it isn't that high. I got in with a 572 EQ FICO score. So unless you have a super low score (which means the loan may be out anyway) and aren't on ChexSystems, you should be okay. You may have to pay/donate $10 to an organization if you don't otherwise have a connection through where you live/work (or a family member).

Capital One Savor: $8,000; Nordstrom Visa: $5,400; Mission Lane: $4,500; LOFT MC: $3,000; AAA Daily Advantage: $2,700; PenFed Power Cash Rewards: $2,000; Capital One: $550 (reallocated $2k to Savor)

Store/Other: Care Credit: $7,500; Amazon: $2.500; Kohls: $2,500; Home Depot: $1,500; Target: $1,100

Re: DCU help

Ok, I am now a member. Do you think I will be able to get a auto loan? Equifax 660, Fico score 5 - 659, experian 662

How long should I wait to apply for auto loan after just becoming a member?

What are your baddies if any on your credit report. Also do you have any previous auto loan experience in your credit file? What is your EQ05 score? Is that 660 your EQ08 score? DCU uses EQ05.....

Re: DCU help

My EQ05 is 659. I have good experience w auto loans, good payment history. Only baddie is a tax lien from 2015 that I am making payments on.

Re: DCU help

Oh man that tax lien WILL pose a problem for you and plus if you can get your score to 680+ then they MIGHT work with you...That tax lien is too new and plus you are paying on it....I would check with your local Credit Unions to see what they can do for you. I mean it doesn't hurt to try DCU and also check out PenFed as well...You may be surprised at what come out of that Smiley Happy

GOOD LUCK!!!!!
