Hello I'm not sure if this will be of interest to anyone or not but I just got off the phone with DCU and talked to them about refinancing my car through them. I currently have capital one auto and the rate is 13.02%. My credit isn't the greatest but it has gotten much better recently. With FICO scores of 652,651, 666 DCU is going to give me a rate of 2.24%. It takes my 63 month loan with a $488.00 car payment down to 55 months and $384.00. Seems like a pretty darn good deal to me. So if anyone out there is looking to refi with scores similar to mine I'd recommend checking DCU out. Of course the standard YMMV disclaimer applies
. Oh yeah my credit reports are currently 0 collections 0 late payments the last 2 years. 3 judgements 5-6 years old 2 paid 1 not fully paid, 1-90 late from 2010 and 1-30 late from 2012 on a CO vehicle that has been paid off now. Hopefully this helps someone reading this.
DCU =?

DCU = digital federal credit union
Thanks. I looked them up. I tried to apply, and it asked for my nearest branch location. Do you have to be local to use this CU?

You don't have to be local. I think the nearest one to me is about 400 miles away. I called them and they walked me through everything right on the phone and gave me my interest rate, payment, etcetera right then. I have to send them POI, registration, and current account statement and its all done. The number I used was 508.263.6700. Then I followed the automated prompts to the autoloan dept.
@EJS,
Thanks for sharing and congrats and good job!!!
Thanks. We're considering refinancing with them. Good to hear it's working out for you. Be sure to update if anything more of interest comes about.
They are really good but they do require a lot of documents for everything lol
Paystub and Drivers License.
Hello everyone. I'm new here. I got approved for an auto refinance by DCU then got denied for membership. The letter says:
"We regret to inform you that your recent request to obtain a membership with DCU has been denied. The methods that we routinely use for remote validation of the information you have provided with your application have failed to provided us with the required level of positive authentication.
Please note that for security reasons we are unable to disclose what factors may have contributed to the denial. This is a standard process that we follow for all applicants."
Now I have 2 HP's from DCU on my report. If I'd applied for membership first, I may only have one HP.
A bit frustrating to say the least.
