I recently applied for an auto loan through the CU. I was told that my score was 710, but my enhanced auto score was 670. HUH? I thought the enhanced made the score higher.
They offered me a lower interest rate because I have good scores and have been a member for quite sometime, but again, I thought the enhanced made my score higher. Anyone?
The industry specific/"enhanced" scores don't, by default, make your score higher. The auto-enhanced score is weighted more heavily towards your prior installment history. If you're 'light' in that area, or have some blemishes, your auto-enhanced FICO score might definitely be lower than your other scores.
ok, thanks.
