Experience with DCU?

If any one can provide some current information regarding their experience with DCU and how long it normally takes to approve an application and provide funds, it would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Re: Experience with DCU?

I did a refi on my 2014 F150, called and did the app after I was a member. They will do a second HP for the app. I sent in all the info over the web and funded within 72 hours. It was very simple and easy for me.

Re: Experience with DCU?

I just bought a truck and used DCU.  I called at 4:2o-pm on Thursday and did the app.  15 minutes later I was approved for 25k.  We already had the vehicle picked out and only needed 13.5k.  Was told I would be getting an e-mail with all the verification they required - received it before I hung up. Only asked for purchase agreement.  Rep gave me a fax number to have the purchase agreement sent too.  Called dealer had them fax purchase agreement.  Called back and they verified they received it.  Told I needed to join the credit union and make deposit but they couldn't do it on the phone as the system was down.  Hung up and went online and did it.  It was now 5:00 (central time zone) and they were closed (they close at 6pm eastern time).  Called back in the morning and confirmed account was opened.  They verified everything was correct.  Said they were mailing out check over night and I would have it by noon.  Told me they would wave the $15 or $20 over night charge due to their system being down the night before. Asked if I wanted their Plantinum Visa at 8% as I was preapproved for 10k.  Said yes.  End of conversation. Fed Ex delivered the check at 12:15 the next day.  I endorsed the back and took to dealer.  Easiest transaction ever!

Re: Experience with DCU?

I just recently discovered my love for DCU. I qualified for the lowest rate with a 685 pull from them. They financed me for 35k with nothing down. Gave them paystub and a copy of the purchase order. It was GREAT and smooth. The dealership wanted to run my credit to "Check to see if we can compete" and I didn't even allow it... it wasn't worth the hard pull. I applied for a card to take advantage of the balance transfers with lower APR's, but no approval yet. To be honest, they've done me so well with auto, that it will take a bit to get me to say something negative (aside from the millions of hard pulls they did LOL).

I had the exact same experience Kathy except they gave me the Visa Platinum (9K limit) first and then told me that I had to apply for a membership before applying for the auto loan.  The membership only requires that you join some group for like $15.00 and another $10.00 in a savings acct.  (I put in $100).  As soon as the membership was approved, the auto loan was approved for 27K at 2.4%. My VISA card arrived a few days later.   I'm not using the auto loan because I decided to lease but I have to say that they are the nicest financial organization I have ever worked with as well as the easiest.   Also, can't figure out how all this works in, but they never asked me for income verification. Did they request that of you?

No income verification.  Just asked for purchase agreement.

I have always been a believer in CU.  I had just paid off my BMW with my local credit union.  I couldn't finance the vehicle we were buying at the low interest rate with our local credit union due to the vehicle not meeting the criteria  (our credit union only loans on 5 years or newer vehicle.  The vehicle we bought was 9 years old but only had 51k miles and belonged to a little old man and sat in the garage except to go to church.  We knew it was a great deal with low miles and figured why buy newer at double the money?)   I could have went with our credit union at 8% interest but DCU offered 1.79%
