Getting financed with no credit history but massive down payment?

I just got a credit card in october, so obviously I can't get financed that way.

If I put $10000-11000 down on a truck that cost 15000 what are my chances of being financed? I have no credit history and cannot get a co-sign.

If anyone tells you that you can't finance $4K on an installment auto loan then you are shopping at the wrong place!!!

I think your best bet at this point will be to go to a local bank or CU and speak directly with a loan officer.  CUs especially will often help you with building your credit history in this way, and I think you'll have good luck if you can explain what you're trying to do.

Well that would be a heck of a down payment!  Just keep in mind that some places require you to finance a certain percentage of the purchase price.  Let us know what happens.
