Gm Financial Pre-Approval ?

I have a pre-approval from GM financial. I sent it to a local dealer. When I was there they said they need to pull my credit send it out ect to see what rate I could get. I thought they just submit the deal to GM without them running my credit and they then would tell me my rate; the whole purpose of applying on-line with GM directly myself.  Curious how the process works with GM regarding this.

I did the same process, but with Capital One instead of GM. Although, I had a pre-approval, Capital One still ran my credit once I was at the dealership. This was the only hard inquiry I had. Make sure the dealership is not sending your application to multiple lenders and is only having GM to check your credit. Best Wishes!
