HSBC sold auto loan to Santander. Who are they? Ever deal with them? I've never heard of them but their name is on my statement this month!

The reason you've never head of them is until fairly recently they mostly operated in places like Europe and South America; now they are expanding into the North American market big time.  I gather there have been some organizational growing pains that sometimes affect the quality of customer service.
