Every new Harley I have purchased has pulled EX. Watch out for them though, they really lke to run up the APR on people they deem not 'credit wise'
Don't buy a new Sporty... they have flooded the used market lately and you can get a good deal on a late model used one if you want. Or, jump up to a Dyna ![]()
They pulled equifax and he did run up the April. He was at 9 origanaly. I told him I couldn't do that. I got to leave they said hold on and came up with 5.99.
They set the apr not the bank. Will be picking it up on Sunday.
Wow you did good, when my dad bought his he had a 642 score at the time and they gave him 14.9% rate. I am hoping to buy one as soon as I get a credit score. DOn't know if they will approve anyone with only 6 months credit history. Fakos are between 647-702. I know they are useless and my actual fico scores will probably be much lower.
I walked out when he said 9 percent. My score dropped to 686 because I went on a credit card spree. I'm also financing a quad. You should try. Just remember the dealership sets the rate not the bank. Good luck.
To be accurate, the bank sets a "buy rate" based on your credit. The dealer is allowed to jack this rate by some percentage and increase his comissions from the loan (called dealer participation, read my stickied guide on financing, leasing, and refi'ing for more details). But the industry would never say the dealer sets the rate...most of the rate is determined by your credit history/what the bank will lend to you at, most lenders limit the participation part to 2-3%.
