Is it online? Most online loan websites do a soft pull beforehand, just to see if you're pre-approved.

If it's in person, I'm not really sure, tbh.

Hmm, Not sure then, How are you seeing the soft pulls? I'll go ahead and check my sisters to see if they're pulling hers too. She has honda financing on her CRV.

They do this to make sure your financial picture hasn't changed in some way that could affect your credit and the payment 

Basically baddies or high debt
