How does NFCU preapproval auto loan draft work?

I applied for an auto loan through NFCU and was ‘preapproved’ for $13,000 and received a draft check and instructions for the dealer. Does anyone have experience with these? Are there dealers that won’t ‘accept’ these? It is subject to another credit pull once you find the car and do the deal?

Works just like a regular check.  There are a few things the dealer will need to do...they'll verify the check at time of financing and all is good.  Most franchise dealers won't have a problem accepting although they will try to talk to you into letting them arrange financing on your behalf.
