I need help, debating if to pay my Escalade off I have a 10 rate

I need help making this decision not sure what to do

I owe 22,100 on the truck my interest is 10.35

To be honest the truck will need a transmission soon and I drive a lot so I’m tired of paying a lot in gas

These are the things I am thinking of doing

-paying it off fixing it and keeping it, will this save me money ?

-paying it off fixing it and selling it to buy a Prius or a Chevy Volt

-Or keep it fix it and continue to pay the payment

My goal is to be debt free that’s the last high payment I have much help would be appreciated

My payment is 887

Welcome @roadto800fico . We say finances over FICO. Paying it off will save you $ in interest. So then is it keep it and pay the upkeep. Or go and get a newer vehicle that will be under warranty. But here comes the payments again. Trannies arent cheap. Its either or. Pay now or pay later.

I'm the type of person that buys my vehicles and holds on to them for 10+ years. With that car payment I could take 1-2 trips a year once I free up that money. Paying for gas wouldn't even be an issue anymore. That's not even factoring the reduction in insurance and registration every year. Easy to save up money for a down payment or do whatever I want with the excess. For me, the short term cost of a new or rebuilt tranny is worth the long term financial freedom.
