Looking to auto refinance with DCU a few questions

So my husband & I just joined DCU last week. Still waiting for our package from them to arrive. I want to refinance my 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser. I owe 19k 4yr left on loan. Right now im at 8% & my loan is with Toyota. My credit was not so great at the time. Last year ATT hit me with $300(paid collection) collection. Really sucks my EQ score droped from 715 to 640. What sucks is I know for a fact I dont owe this. It was over a dish network bill that we had all tied into one. We drpped ATT and just started paying dish direct. Dish has said I didnt owe them the $300, but ATT wont budge. So anyways other than that my creidt looks good. AAOA is 3 years & current EQ fico is 685 just pulled it from this site.Said my UTI is 21%. Anyone know how DCU feels about my score range? Would I beable to get under 3%? My income is 80k & my husbande is not on the loan, as he is not employed at the(just finished school) time. Also if aproved do I just send them a copy of last two pay stubs? Will they want to contact my employer? One more thing we opened a joint account, can we both still get the free EQ FICO score if its a joint account? Thanks alot for any info given.

Your CS is high enough to qualify for their lowest rate.  The question will be if there's enough value in your car.  Do you know your payoff? You may or may not need to send income docs.  Whomever is listed first on your membership will default as the primary and that person will get the free FICO score.

Pay off is 19k & change, with just under 60k on the milage. Most ive looked at on autotrader, around same year have closer too or over 100k miles. If they think its not worth what I owe, will they turn the loan down?

They will use NADA to determine the value.  The age of the vehicle will limit the length of the loan.  Give them a call and go over the figures, I'm sure it would still be to your benefit with the APR reduction.

Wait...I thought DCU's top tier needed a FICO of 675 EQ? Have they reduced this recently?

Gotcha, I guess I was confused as OP also said this 2 lines up:

"Really sucks my EQ score droped from 715 to 640."

Anyways, thanks for the clarification!

Re: Looking to auto refinance with DCU a few questions

I spoke to them about 2 months back and the CSR told me that the lowest score they will finance with is 620 but this rate will not be any lower than 11 percent. She said to get the advertised rate your scores have to be over 665. But keep in mind like they will look at the Loan to Value as others have mention. She is not an credit analyst but based on her experince working there thats what she have seen. Give them a call and see what they can do for you. Really nice people to work with. Good Luck
