I am not sure if this is the right location so I apologize if it isn't. I am currently a member of NFCU and was wondering if anyone could provide insight on if they refinance particualary if you have had a BK. My autoloan is through Cap One but the interest rate is high. My BK was discharged in May and I had to seek another car immediately after.
I have starting my rebuilding currently have a Cap1 QS1 2K limit and a card with NFCU with $500 with very low utilization.
Thanks in advance.
My understanding is NFCU is pretty forgiving, as long as they are not one the organizations you burned in the BK. You will have to take the HP from them and see what they are willing to offer, but my guess is they will beat the current "punishment" APR you are paying from CapOne.
That being said, they may not be willing to re-finance a vehicle so soon after initial financing, especially if the cars used MSRP is less than what you owe on it.
I recently re-financed with PenFed CU, and bought a new car through them as well, so I have some experience with that CU, but haven’t opened an account with NFCU yet.
