Not NFCu eligible. What other options do I have?

I filed bk April 2015 discharged 7/2015. Have 2 Cap 1 cards. Financed vehicle with WFDS @14% in August, I'm about to make 3rd payment 12/2015. I am wanting to refinance it to get a better rate. I can't get into NFCU I live in Austin Texas. Anyone have any ideas?!?

I'm not a CU expert like some of these folks, but if you do a websearch for Austin CUs, you may see some things you like while you're waiting to get the details on anything else.  It couldn't hurt, at least.  Congrats on your positive and apparently quick post-BK moves.  It took me a long while after mine to care about doing anything.

Do you have to be in the military or anything like that to get into either of these CU?!?

http://www.mycreditunion.gov/pages/mcu-map.aspx

This will take you to search for credit unions by zip code that meet minimum requirements to be considered good. (rates, fees, etc.)

No you do not. Living in Austin makes you eligible for both.

Thank you. I'm assuming both are also BK friendly.

Not 100% sure. But definitely give them a call tomorrow and find out. They both pull TU for membership. For SSFCU the pull is good for any product for 60 days. RBFCU is 45 days.

Have you looked into BBVA. Don't know if they are BK friendly but they could be a viable option as they pull TU.
