Question on getting a car.

I might get a new(er) car in a year.

 

Do car dealers still count inquries just like CCC's, or is it a whole different game?

Depends what scoring model is used at that dealer. (Auto Enhanced vs standard). Some effects of inquiries fall off after six months to a year, again, depending on scoring model.

FICO scores inquiries for one year, although they'll remain on your reports for two years.

 

Auto inquiries within a short period of time are grouped together by FICO for scoring purposes:
