Refinance question regarding credit report

So, I refinanced my Jeep last month. I was with Santander and now with my local credit union. So right before Santander got the payoff check, they had reported my new balance to the 3B. And my new loan, is already being reported. So it looks like I owe double what I actually do. Do I just sit and wait for the end of this month for Santander to report it is paid off? Or should I dispute it to get it off there faster?

Re: Refinance question regarding credit report

I would not dispute it personally. It should report a zero balance and closed next month.

You may actually take a credit hit for the old loan being paid off as that was paid down from the original balance.

Re: Refinance question regarding credit report

The funny part is, my new loan, is almost less than my most recent balance before refinancing. Two payments and I will be at a lower prinicipal amount than I was right before I refinanced. I know I may take a small hit, but since I only had three months into the other loan, I dont anticipate it will be very much. My AAoA is 7 years, so I should be ok. And if it does drop, it should rebound fairly quickly.

Re: Refinance question regarding credit report

Why would a dispute even be considered....
1) It was accurate that the time
2) May the time investigations, would have been conducted the update would have happened anyway
What's the point
3) If open a dispute can of worms, where the vendor, doing you a FAVOR and clearing a nagging issue, may just wipe the payment history.... thinking the dispute was over a late payment
I've seen a dispute for A cause a B effect, which is ok when one is just trying to remove negs

But if they zig when you wanted a zag

You've open up a line of run around and I meant this B.S. work for yourself over WHAT?

Why play with 🔥 with no real gain
