I know it is not Mercedes but when I went to purchase my BMW I was told for financing through BMW you only needed 545 credit score to qualify. Perhaps MB has something similar?

Well you are in luck. I've been researching the S550 for several months.  But you are not going to find a 2012 for the price range you are talking. You might find a 2010 at that range. unless it has a 100k miles or more. anyway. from the credit pulls. Mercedes benz financial. which mostly pulls transunions btw. people have been approved. not based on the price of the car. But Income and credit score of Course.

From 580 score and up. if scores that low. you will need nice Down payment to be approved. But the car really does not matter. its best to secure financing before going to any dealer. so you would treat it like cash. But if you do go to dealer negotiate the price before saying you will finance it. that you you know what you are dealing with. Im in the same boat.

So I may lower my expectations and just go with a 2012. E350 instead. I can get one for about 17k out the door.

I agree with everyone else. Your interest will be skyhigh and you probably will end up with a car with a lot of miles on it and not really worth the price they are trying to have you purchase it at LOL.
