Re: Want to App 3 CC's - better to do it before or after Applying for New Auto Loan?

Called Navy to initiate manual review....  she said could I hear back in 2 hours (initial app response time took 90min) but appeals can take up to 3 bus. days and if I don't hear from them by mid wednesday to call back. Added VIN and all relevant info.

Also said they usually won't do more HPs if within 30 days of last HP but she said additional HP is possible for various reasons/circumstances but unlikely.  So out of the three  Navy, PenFed and DCU, Navy had best rate at 2.99% and now I will just wait and do some more research on DCU and their pre-approvals I was offered before I complete that membership app.

ok, pre-approval is different from pre-qualification. When pre-approved, they have already approved you, as long as your info has not substantially changed since they viewed it. This tells me they SP'ed you. You are approved for those amounts. Anything higher is submitted for review.

Still, best rate is best rate. But, you have secondary options.

Ok, with the seconday options....  and maybe I should create a new thread regarding DCU because this thread started with question about apping CC's but that isn't even on my radar at the moment and it's all about Auto Loans......

Curious on DCU membership since I paused the app once it populated the 2 pre-approvals because i was weary of incuring a HP for loan lower than preferred $45k.....   I guess I could opt to remove those 2 approvals before I click continue on the DCU membership and then see if they populate as offers once I finish the membership app........ I read that membership only with DCU is normally just a SP.

Nice, that Grand Cherokee is super nice,  I was looking at the Ram when I was at Jeep ordering my Rubicon, they had a super sleek Black Edition Ram and think they were with 0% APR as well as a few incentives.  My current Jeep I bought new in 1999 so I really get my use out of them but after 20yrs it's time for something with new shocks... lol

I love my g cherokee. I did like you, I put in all my research, all my homework. Actually got little over 8k off sticker. That and the good rate I got made it better. Sure is a nice ride. Loaded out too. But the laramie truck is nice too. Havent decided yet if I will or not. It would have to be a pretty good deal.

The pre-approvals should remain, I would think, I don't see why not. But, YMMV.

New DCU membership - pre-approvals

I just opened a new membership with DCU earlier today, received an email earlier that my application was approved and complete and no documents are required but no other information......   how long is it before my account is active and will they send email or snail mail on how I  create online account and login credentials?

I had a couple of pre-approval offers pop up as I was finishing the membership application that I did not accept but curious if they will still be available once I have access to log in to the new account.

Re: New DCU membership - pre-approvals

Congratulations on your membership.

IIRC. They will USPS you in 5-10 business days your PIN and any other pertinent documents to create access online.

If CC pre-approval was not accepted at time of membership, I don't think it will be offfered again.
