Im looking to get a used car loan in a few months my exp. is 584 but workin on it...I just got caught up with my second mortgage but they havent reported it yet...I have 1 account in collection with amex ...Can I still get a loan fo $10000-$15000? I make around $75000a yr I have a trade worth around $2500 ...I havent tried yet I know the interest will be high but sorta need a car...And should I see if a dealership will pre approve me or just go for a car in the price range?

Re: auto loan?

You need to see how long you can last without getting a  new car. You need to get your Mortgages caught up. (in most cases a bank will not finance anyone who is behind on child support or a mortgage-its an automatic denial) You might want to work on that collections.

You will need a down payment. 25%+ of transaction

Hopefully your scores will pop up to in excess of 600 but you will probably still be special/secondary finance.

Re: auto loan?

Yea Im gonna wait till probably Feb. or March...Id wait longer but no heat in my jimmy(bad heater core $1300 to fix) it being a '99 I was thinking of getting a little car loan for around $10000-$12000...so my payment wont be ridiculous...I figure like $1000 down plus my trade should get at least $2000 so finance $8000 or $9000.
