voluntary repossion

Hi, I purchased a car in 2001. The company gave me a temporary car to use until mine

was ready. when they called me to go and swap the cars the employee i met with was

in a different car from the one i agreed to purchase. So a few days later ( less than a week) I called the company and told them to come and get the car. I never made a single payment on the car. The dealership is no longer there. I tried calling other dealerships

but they are unable to help me. The bank I had the loan through said they have on record

that I returned the car in 2002 and was also 30 days late on a payment in 2002. I have disputed this twice will all three credit bureau and they keep telling me it is correct on my credit file because that is what the bank is telling them. Without records from the dealership I cannot prove that it is wrong. Any suggestions as to how I may correct

this matter?    Thanks for any help.

Re: voluntary repossion

You are in a tough spot. When in 2002 (so they say) did the late occur and when did the repo occur? Soundslike it will fall off real soon anyway.

Re: voluntary repossion

WHAT ABOUT THE REGISTRATION AND INSURANCE? CAN YOU SOMEHOW PROVE THAT THE CAR WAS NOT REGISTERED IN YOUR NAME OR STATE DURING THAT TIME? MOST STATES KEEP UP WITH CHANGES IN REGISTRATION AND INSURANCE. OR EVEN BETTER CAN YOU GET THE V.I.N. AND ORDER A CARFAX REPORT TO SEE WHEN AND WHERE IT WAS CHANGING HANDS DURING 2001/2002?
I've been where you are trying to go and I don't wanna go back.
