Hello,
I filed my BK ten years ago this October. I've read mixed information around the internet about how to get the BK off of my credit report. Some information states it just falls off while some claim that I have to write to each credit bureau.
Then I remember that I had a myFico account and thought I would pose the question here. I read through the FAQ and did not see this particular nugget of information there.
Answers based upon experience will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Hello X51,
To the best of my knowledge, the derogatory bankruptcy information should automatically be removed by the credit bureaus once the necessary time has elapsed. I would wait a month or or so past the 10 year mark then pull my credit reports to make sure that it has been removed. I wouldn't foresee any problems, but you never know...
Thanks for the info.
I had a Score Power laying about and I used it and saw the BK is gone and I'm nearly breaking 700!
Time to celebrate with a taco!

Just remember it is 10 years from the date of DISCHARGE, not the date filed.
Ifiled 12/99. It just fell off EQ and my score went from 694 to 788. That is with high credit usage which I don'tnormally do.
On the other hand EX went from 770 to 764.
Hope this helps.
haven't checked TU yet.
And yes, I am very happy![]()
It was the date of filing.
