We just finished our CH13 and all of the creditors have updated everything and there were no adverse effects on my score. Then for some reason an old credit union personal loan which was included in the CH13 and discharged has shown up and dropped my score by 30 points. The odd thing is it shows that it was converted from a CH7 to a CH13 and it was never in a CH7.
It has the Date of First Delinquency as 11-2010 and Date of First Major Delinquency as of 12/2015. Is this normal to happen or should I be disputing it? None of the other creditors have caused any drops in my score.
The date of first major delinquency is probably what is causing the drop. I would definitely dispute it as it was included in your BK and the delinquency date should not be this month if you were just discharged. Good luck to you!
Thanks! It does seem odd as none of the others reporting the bankruptcy as complete caused a drop in points. I guess this creditor was really mad at me. I disputed it with TU.

Credit Unions are great to do business with (I have accounts at 3), as long as you pay them as agreed. But they can be rather nasty in BK or delinquencies. But they are non-profit, member owned, and take protecting their assests seriously, whereas most banks think of BK/CO losses as a cost of doing business. But no, your CU can't report CH 13 discharge as a date of first major delinquency - that's an attempt to collect a debt discharged in BK, a big no-no. If TU won't resolve your dispoute to your satisfaction, talk to your attorney about it.
