AT&T and Chapter 13

Should I notify AT&T of my bankrupsy?  That bill is not included in my ch.13 but their webside suggested to notify them. I have 2 devices, all current. I am keeping them meaning I am still paying the bill every month.  I also have  tablet threw Verizon, and they found out about my ch. 13 even tho it was not included in the bankrupsy  and they wrote off the cost of my device  which was good news for it lowered my payments. I wonder if AT&T does the same?   I just dont want my device shut off for Its my only phone.

Re: AT&T and Chapter 13

Device installment plans are considered debt as far as bankruptcy courts are concerned. This would be a question for your bankruptcy attorney.

If you're worried about losing your number, I suggest finding a prepaid provider and requesting a number port over to them.

Re: AT&T and Chapter 13

I did NOT notify VZW but during my plan (maybe 3 years into my plan) VZW did find out and they refunded a ton of money, I called and asked because I was current on my bill and didn't include them, they explained the financed phones were a debt and they couldn't be treated any differently than any other creditor so they voluntarily refunded the money

AT&T keeps it business as usual unlike VZW.
