Anyone with experience with Converting a Chapter 13 to Chapter 7

I filed for Ch 13 2/18/2019, and it was confirmed in May of 2019. I currently pay around $1700/month to the Trustee. I am a single mother of 2. After all of my monthly expenses are paid, I had $48 left. Trying to feed a family of 3 on $250 was a stretch. I recently qualified for my VA disability. I spoke with my attorney and she stated that the DOJ may or may not allow the chapter 7 because i have $16000 left to pay off all of my expenses. My attorney said that the only way for the Ch 7 to make sense was to surrender my car. I'm okay with that. Has anyone any experience with converting ch 13 to ch 7? I forgot to ask my attorney about how my disability income from the VA would factor in.

Complicated things like this is best to discuss with your attorney. Were regular folks that been thru BK and help from that standpoint. Only 1 lawyer pops in here once in a while. If your going to have a 16k surplus. That may be the the thing that would stop a 7. For a 7 you have to look broke.

TWO MORE MONTHS NO BK! (on Eq/Ex)
