Just wanted to post this to maybe help some people as i was on this forum looking for answers i couldn't find
unfortunately i had to file chapter 7 bankruptcy, filed late july 2024 for $150,000. that includes 2 cars, 5 CCs, 1 personal loan, and 8 collections.
*Still in Bankruptcy, filed 3 weeks ago, 341 meeting is in 1 week*
Lender: Consumer Portfolio Services
Vehicle: 2021 Chevy Traverse
Miles: 30,000
Price: $27,000
APR: 18%
Downpayment: $1,000
Dealer: Local Massive A rate chevy dealer
Score: 600 ish (rose a ton after filing bankruptcy)
I have around 5 months of non/missed payments on everything including my autos which were up for repo (my attorney told me to stop paying everything). i was 2 months behind on some things than decided i was going to file so i stopped paying everything for 3 months while i got everything in order to file bankruptcy.
My attorney gave me the green light to buy a new car or gave me the option to redeem my 2020 blazer.
Congratulations on your car!
That's a really high APR. Hopefully when things settle down a bit you can refi for a better rate.
Just curious, did not one of your 2 cars you included in the bankruptcy not have a better APR?
