I've tried a few normal lenders and got denials. I am 2 years post BK Chapter 7. I have 3 credit cards with zero balance, auto loan thru Capital One, and a Mortage that I reaffirmed. Creit score is around 680. I have no idea where to try. It seems like BK has runined me except for getting car loan and credit cards thru Capital One. Unfortunately they don't do motorcycles.
I live in Dallas and while I am not sure what type of bike you are interested in, I do know that a couple of the Harley places in DFW offer assisted finance for folks bouncing back from bankruptcy and credit probs. Adam Smith Harley in Corinth is one and I believe Maverick HD in Carrollton does so too. Also, try American Motorcycle Trading Company in Arlington and Bedford. They are easy to work with too. Good luck. I let my baby, my Freewheeler trike go back in my Chap 7. Looking forward to saving a big, fat down payment and getting a new trike in spring 2020.
+1 on the Harley financing. They have their own in-house financing company...Eagle Bank out of Nevada.
What kind of bike? Sportsbike, adventure, dirt, sxs? Sheffield Financial (BB&T affiliate) has rather loose credit requirements. Seems that a credit union would serve you well in your situation too.
IME, DCU is about the most conservative bank out there. But ya never know i guess.
I am getting my scores from my Discover card. It says it is a FICO score. I wasn't completely familiar though.

Seems like it may be tough to get a membership. Not sure what that includes. I did call and they said that you have to have reestablished credit for 2 years after bankruptcy for all loans except mortgage. Not sure what that gets you. Not sure what happens if you apply and you aren't a member?
Any credit union will pull your credit for membership, then some will pull again for any of their credit products. If you have bad chexsystems, you many not be able to join.
I'd steer clear of dcu....Veeeeeerrrrrrrryyyyyy conservative.
If you're buying new, go to a dealer and try to finance through them...chances are they finance with Sheffield. Sheffield is probably the number 1 motorsports lender in the country.

Honestly I have very clean credit. Not lates or anything. Definitely not in Chexsystems. My main problem is a 2 year old Chapter 7. It seems to prevent most types of loans.
