Well, apparently I rebuilt a little *too* well after my previous CH7 that was discharged in May 2015.
My attorney just filed my petition for another 7 yesterday. I have $184k in unsecured debt.
She warned that I should get another checking account (instead of my current primary one at NFCU) saying that CU's will kick you out when you burn them. Which I am doing to NFCU to the tune of about $60k.
I am well aware they will never give me a loan product again, but didn't know my checking could be affected.
Can anyone confirm this?
I know cross collateralization can be a concern, but I have almost nothing in my NFCU checking/savings at the moment. And now that my petition is filed, would that prevent them taking any funds from my NFCU cash accounts should I start using them again?
If I should open a new account, I was thinking of doing so with an institution like BOA that I've never done business with previously with the hopes the relationship may foster getting a CC with them one day.
Or do ya'll know or another institution that would be good for this?
Thanks for any info!
There are a few banks that will blacklist you once you file Navy is one of them and the other off the top of my head is Citi
Your attorney is correct, NFCU will shut you down when you burn them in BK so you should find another home for your checking account.

Get it while you can. Pull your $ out and find another bank ASAP.
It's $11. They can have it LOL.
Will do on the new account. Thanks for the replies and I'll keep everyone posted in this thread throughout the process.
