Hello, After a drop in income and being laid off my husband and I had to file for a chapter 13 bankruptcy. I just want to make sure everything is reporting correctly so I can bounce back as quickly as possible after this. I looked at my credit karma profiles ( I know the scores won't be right, but just looking to see if everything looks right
), and I noticed transunion has deleted all the late payments leading up to the bankruptcy but equifax is still showing them. I tried to avoid filing at first by trying to explore all my options and unfortunately had to take the hit of a few late payments. I was just wondering if anyone here had any idea on if these were supposed to show and I'm just getting lucky the way transunion is reporting? Thanks in advance for any help! Thanks to for all the helpful info on this page we have been reading a lot to eventually get our credit back to the way it was before this mess.
I forgot to clarify the accounts are still there showing in a wage earner plan of course on transunion and the equifax. Equifax is just reporting the late payments where transunion seems to have taken that off since the bankruptcy. Thanks again!
Normally the only CRA that keeps payment history is EX... AFAIK the history is deleted by EQ and TU. That's how my reports show.
Give it some time to see if it updates.
Either way, the most important thing is the accounts show a $0 balance and IIB... wage earner plan is another term for Ch 13 so if you see that you're fine too.
Thanks so much for the info! This site has been such a wealth of knowledge. I looked at credit seasme to see experian seemed to be reporting my fako quite a bit higher as well but the credit report wasn't as easy to read as credit karma so that makes sense that they delete the payment history to. As far as I can see everything looks like its in a wage earner plan. My next plan is to ask my attorney if I am allowed to open a small secured credit card just so I can get some account aging going on during this.

Definitely ask your attorney because it requires trustee approval.
A lot of people don't... and it can come back to bite you if you have a unfriendly trustee. Gotta remember the trustee isn't your friend... he's out for the best interests of your creditors. Opening new accounts while still under BR protection without permission could lead to dismissal of your case if the trustee wants to play hardball.
