I burnt Citi on 2 cards back in my 2013 BK13. All my scores are right at or a little over 800 with very low uti 3-4%, DTI under 12%, and a moderately thick and squeeky clean file. I think all my DPs are good enough for approval but the prequal site gives me no Luv. How long is there memory?

Citi's on-site prequals are still disabled - are you trying to prequal for a cobrand like Home Depot?
Sorry about that, you are right. I was checking Chase.
I do not remember burning them on anything and still no Luv.
I was also checking Citi regularly until they shut it down but I think they shut it down before my BK fell off...
I've been discharged since 6/16, BK and all baddies are completely gone now.
Should I expect to get denied from Citi still?
Also I am under 5/24 and never burnt Chase so I don't know why I'm not getting a prequal for Chase... ![]()

The only Citi card I have is Home Depot so I can't really speak from any core card experience (I don't have a BK either though). I know they were sensitive to a BK on file, I think last I saw they wouldn't consider you until it was seven years old, but that may have also changed. Hopefully someone will chime in with better knowledge.
As for Chase, it sounds like your profile would be very acceptable to them. Long as income is good, there's no real reason to think you'd be declined with or without a prequal.
Income is 165K so that should not be a big issue.

Citi (legacy) can have a long memory depending on the burn and if IIB. That said, since the BK is off your CRs and given the lenghth of time, it's fairly possible you can try them and see. Unfortunately, since the pre-qualification portal is still disabled, there's no other current method to gauge your odds. By the same token, the Citi retail arm (Home Depot, Sears, Shell, Eddie Bauer, etc.), is typically a little more flexible with re-establishing a relationship if any of their products were IIB.
If you don't want to risk Citi, then potentially Chase might be a better route to pursue.

I will echo what @FinStar has said (btw Fin, Im so glad to see you back!!). With your Citi burn in BK13, was your BK complete payback, or did you settle an agreed amount payback? Sometimes, that can make a difference. At this point all you can is apply and see. If denied by Citi, and they site on the denial letter "past relationship", and they were paid back in your BK, then I would recon them. With Chase, as Fin said, you have a better chance at approval with them not being IIB.
Regardless, if you decide to apply, I would apply for Chase first, then Citi due to 5/24, and Citi is inquiry senitive. They dont like to see any inquires for 6 months. So you might stagger the apps. Good luck!
I honestly do not think Citi was paid anything at all.
Originally my BK13 was a 5 year payment plan but it only ended up being about 2.5 years.
I got my last payment letter and shortly after my DC letter and was completely surprised.
The collection agency that bought out my Citi debt did not get paid through BK and I'm not sure why but my Trustee and Attorney said I was legally clear of all debt.
I just started a ReFi that will close in a few weeks, got a HP foor a Wells Fargo CLI and opened up a PenFed PCR card. I also shopped around for the best ReFi rate so I probably got about 5 HP in the last 3 weeks. I know Rate shopping inquiries count as 1 for scoring but does Citi look at them the same or see them all individually?
