i have a quick question, I filled chapter 7 in Feb sometime in March a collection account was added to my credit reports that I was not aware of. Is this allowed to happen during the automatic stay? I was thinking that is an attempt to collect a debt but not completly sure. Thank you for your help.

They probably were not made aware of the filing, I would write them a letter with a copy of your filing with a request for it to be removed from your reports forthwith.
One positive thing about Ch. 7 was that even if you didn't specifically list the account on your petition - as long as the debt was incurred prior to filing, and eligible for discharge (IE, not a student loan or something), then it will still be discharged.
Thank you for your help,
to try and piggy back on the thread op... ty for that.... This begs the question, can a company ADD a collection report *AFTER DC* from debt that WAS discharged by BK7?
I think it depends.
If you were in collections prior to filing and they added it after discharge and show it as valid (zero balance, IIB), then it would appear valid since you were technically in collections prior - which would be okay.
Now, if you weren't in collection when you filed and they changed it and then added it - then you might have some interesting arguments.
