Hello!
I have a CH 7 that was discharged 2/9/18. I have since been approved for a secured Discover, Open Sky, and Blaze MasterCard. I really do not want any sub-prime cards, however I wasn’t even pre-qualifying for any Capital One cards after my CH 7 discharge. I have 0 balances on my 3 cards currently, ( Have 1 card report 5 bucks. Your losing points with all 0 balance on 3 cards) and still show that I cannot pre-qualify for any credit cards. I decided to check my credit report on Credit Karma, and it shows Comenity Capital has not updated 5 store cards I had with them (all super low limits) that were IIB. They show on Equifax currently as charged off with July 2018 dates, and do not mention Included in Bamkruptcy anywhere. They also say “missed 6 payments” because they all reported well after my filing and discharge date.
I’ve reached out via the Equifax dispute and have not had resolution. I also called Comenity two days ago who put me on hold and came back and said “we spoke to our Bankruptcy Department and they will update those accounts ASAP”. Two days later, I still haven’t seen or been made aware that the Comenity accounts are reporting correctly. They may have reported it. Some CRA's do updates also. Dont know when. But I had a balance change on my card. Got the alert and took 3 days for the score change. It isnt always in a couple days.
Is there any other way to get Comenity to properly report the accounts as IIB? I’m assuming this is why Capital one keeps denying me even a secured card (isn’t Comenity Capital under the Capital One umbrella now?) No. Google "Comenity Capital" top listing is its under the same Comenity Bank.
If you’ve made it this far...thank you! My goal is to do away with the sub-prime cards and only have a few CC’s reporting.
If it doesnt doesnt change soon. Dispute it for incorrect reporting and IIB. Also let them know there were no lates due to DC.
