So I burned NFCU for almost 15k in recent BK7. I still have an active mortgage with them though. What credit union should I get in good with now?

The CUs I hear often on MF are: Penfed, Alliant, DCU, Nasa, SDFCU to name a few. As for CU recomendations post Ch. 7, you'd have to do some internet sleuthing to determine membership criteria for each CU. I know some of the above look for 24 months post discharge to approve membership. Also, many CUs are Chexsystems sensitive, so if you haven't, I'd pull your Chexsystems report to make sure everythings clean there.

PENFED is usually a couple yrs out. I waited 4 yrs. No matter which one you get in with. It will take some time to get back where your were at with NFCU before BK.

I just reached 15k a couple of months ago with penfed, 2 cards 7.5k each. I got the 2nd card the gold 2 1/2 years post bk7 dc. I got the first PCR at 2 years post bk7 dc. I was a member of penfed for 7 months with a small savings before i applied for the PCR.
PenFed- I joined one month post BK and set up a small direct deposit. I sought credit elsewhere getting approved for 1 secured and 2 unsecured cards. I used them every month leaving a small balance to report and 7 months later PenFed instantly approved me for their PCR card.

What sl did they give you on the PCR?
$10,000 at 17.99 APR
Was never a member of Penfed but was approved for the cash rewards card with a $2.5K SL two months before my ch13 discharge and a new car loan for $50K. It will take some time to get back with NFCU.
Only way to get back with NFCU is to pay them every pennty back.
