Help!

I'm planning on filing Chapter 7 by the end of the week. How do I proceed with the 7 to 700 plan if I'm burning Cap 1, Barclay, NFCU and Cred 1?

Re: Help!

Don't worry. Get thru your discharge - Cap1 will let you back in shortly after discharge. NFCU will ask you to payback any $ owed if you want credit products again. You will need to work on cleaning up your reports once you discharge. Only after that you can app for Cap1 and maybe get a secure card.

Discharged BK7 - 7.16.15
Current Fico8 - (8.2022) EX - 744/EQ - 728/TU - 740

Re: Help!

I agree with the above. Don't worry about the future until the past is taken care of. I burned all of the above as well and Cap 1 still let me back in. Give it time. Remember patience will be key.

Re: Help!

Don't be so sure Cap One will let you in. I'm over two years post BK discharge... Burned them for $300 and they still won't let me in. Not even a credit pull. Just a letter saying had too many prior obligations - which, $300 suprises me as "too many"
BK Discharge 2/11/14

Currently in the garden.

Re: Help!

All those creditors you listed will eventually let you back in, except for NFCU. They blacklist for life, from my understanding (unless you repay them).

Re: Help!

cap one is your only choice of a good card shortly after bk.

Rebuild started in 2014  -  $100k unsecured credit in 2017  -  $500k unsecured credit in 2024.

DON'T WORK FOR CREDIT CARDS ... MAKE CREDIT CARDS WORK FOR YOU!

Re: Help!

so, once my petition is filed I start cleaning up my reports and then wait how long to start rebuilding? I am also surrendering my car because NFCU is going to cross collateral my auto loan with my nrewards cc and CLOC making the 26k i owe on my loan actually 38k. how do i go about getting a car loan? how long should i wait to do that? do i need to get the auto loan first then try for cc with cap one?

Re: Help!

first thing

take care of you bk case get it d/c then plan to rebuiled again

you can get a secured card with open sky or even small store card with comenity bank or synchrony

rememeber you will be debt free and this will attract many creditors ! and also you would not be able to file another bk for at least 8 years so this help also to let creditors approve you

your hitory before bk is a factor

number of inq

so if you can not make ur cards payment or if you are not able to have a settelment plan with them

go ahead and file for bk and good luck
