I filed Chapter 13 Bk in 2008 that was successful completed and discharged in 2011. All of the debts that were included in the bk were deleted from my credit report with the expectation of an entry made by Comenity/ShopNBC (was included in the bk and at the time was just ShopNBC.com). I initially disputed this entry with Experian online and received a response that it was verified. I called Experian to get additional information was was told that my account was verified with the date of last payment made 9/2009. Of course this was incorrect. I most definitely did not make a payment to this company during my bankruptcy. I was told that I needed to send in documentation to support my claim. I immediately mailed a copy of the debt schedule page, final account from the trustee, and discharged order. In my letter, I requested copy of the original contract, a complete payment history from ShopNBC, and vertification method.
Today, I received from Experian the following:
An account included in a bankruptcy remains on the personal credit report for a maximum of seven years from the date bankruptcy was either filed or discharged. The bankruptcy itself, listed in the public record information section of the credit report remains for seven years from the filing date if it was a Ch 13, or 10 years from the filing date if it was a Chapter 7,11 or 12.
As a national consumer credit reporting agency we collect and store information from credit grantors and information available in public records following the guideline in the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
When you use credit a record of your payment history is stored along with the respective account. The monthly payments leading up to a bankruptcy discharge tells the account's history. Unless the history is inaccurate, it cannot be deleted. Accounts included in a bankruptcy(other than those under Chapter 13) will no line indicate that a balance is owed.

The date of last payment is irrelvant in any timeline for the item to report on your CR. It can report for a maximum of 7 yrs from the date the BK was filed or 7.5 yrs from the DoFD which ever was earlier. If you find that they have scheduled it to be on file longer than the period that you determine to be the real timeline then at the time it hits 7/7.5 yrs old you will dispute as too old to remain on file and if they refuse to remove it you then file a CFPB complaint on the CRA.
Thanks for your response. I will work on submitting a complaint this week.
