My husband and I are giving the paperwork to the attroney on July 1st and filing August 1st. He wants to find a new job that pays more but we're right on the cusp of making too much for chapter 7. Can he get a new job once its filed or should he wait until its discharged?

This is a question for your attorney.
"Making too much for chapter 7" tends be a notion a lot of folks have that isn't always true. A good attorney can guide properly guide you on this.
Income guidelines are guidelines.
Completely depends on your acceptable expenses.
If you qualify now, I would not change anything until after discharge.

I had to quit my second job and cut back to no OT on the main job to file. Once DC'ed my lawyer said your good to go. Went back to grabbing OT and my second job took me back. Now the money goes straight to the savings account. So best bet as above is to wait until DC and your free to grab what you want.
We do have a lawyer, i'm waiting for him to call us back. We are about $2000 under the income limit, i just wasn't sure if what we make between filing and discharge mattered or not
In a general broad answer. Its best not to rock the boat financially until your DC'ed basically.
We had to wait a couple of months to file. We finally filed in April and was just discharged on June 16th. My husband was ubering/lyfting full time and then FINALLY got a good job in mid Aug. last year. We had to get past that 6 month look back because of the first pay check in Aug. and his uber/lyft money was too much. SO if it were me...I would not accept a better paying job until after it is filed. Once it is filed I am almost positive it does not matter. You just can't inherit or come into some major money that way 6 months after filing or you have to let them know.
