Looking for wisdom

Hey guys, new member long time lurker.

My goal for this post is to get some help on basically what my next steps should be and some answers to a couple questions.

So currently I have 3 cards and no loans.
I am also on my Fiancee's cards as an AU, as she has good credit and no bad marks on it. (790 score).

I was discharged in late April (4/29) from Chap 7.

My Current cards with starting limit and date opened (starting limit are also current as I feel I have not had these long enough to ask for an increase)

Discover It Secured - 500 (7/15/21)
Ollo - 2000 (7/18/21)
Capital One - 3000 (10/25/21)

I burned the following. (Sorry I do not recall my balances at filing)
Capital one - 9000 CL
Citi - 7000 CL
Kohls - 3000 CL
Tire Kingdom (I think this was synchrony) - 10000 CL
Synchrony (Amazon) - 7000 CL
Volvo Financial - (2 months left on lease at time of filing, $500~ left)

My plan of attack now that I have 3 cards is as follows, let me know if you see holes.

Discover - Add to all subscriptions (Youtube music, Amazon Prime, etc.(maybe $100/mo)).
Pay in full every month when I get statement. (going to look into autopay)
Will also be using for Gas - Trying to maximize my cash back on this card.
Ollo - Likely leave this at 0 balance and use when booking hotels, rental cars, or general needs such as groceries and paying it off monthly.
Capital one - Planning on putting all my bills on autopay and paying monthly (Car insurance, Power, Water, internet, roughly $350 a mo).

For a loan I was thinking of using Self and just doing the $25/mo rate.

I was also thinking of going with the MyFico monthly, as im also going to start looking into disputing items on my report as well as hiding the CHP7 and id like monthly-bi monthly feedback as I go.
MyFico doesnt offer this service though, so was also considering credit verso but wasn't sure how accurate their score is.

Discover should graduate from what ive read here, in 7-8 months from open, so im hoping for a 2k CL and at that time ill likely request a CL incrase through Ollo, and wait until June to ask CapOne.
Going to start new car shopping June-December depending market at that time, for now I have a few cars with no payments that I own/drive, we just went to the kia dealership for my fiancee and while her car is worth a good penny now, we're not interested in paying 20k dealermarkup.

Experian is showing my score at 673, but id like to wait until I have actual reports in hand before I start posting any numbers.

I know I need some form of loan to further my credit which is why I was thinking Self.
I'm also wondering what everyone is using to check their reports (mainly get accurate scores)?
Are there any other cards I should look into? I saw something about Apple (though not an apple guy so id use it elsewhere if at all)

Thank you for any suggestions, help, words of wisdom, or just flat calling me out because my thought process is bad lol.

Re: Looking for wisdom

What do you mean by 'hiding' the Ch7? You cannot have it removed from your credit report at all because it is a public record. It will be on there for 10 years regardless. Same with any accounts that are on your CR that show as IIB. They may or may not drop off at the discretion of the creditor, but you cannot have them removed.
BK7 discharged - 06JUL2021
Loans:

Revolving Accounts (in the order they were opened):

Closed accounts:

0/6, 2/12, 11/24 new accounts
TCL: $144.2K

Hey MileHigh so im planning on using the method outlined on this very forum combined with a couple found/posted more recently in a couple facebook groups.   The search bar has really worked wonders for me honestly.

You cannot remove it from Public Record, but from your credit report, yes you can.
Also to my knowledge you cannot seal the Public Record either.

I refered to it as "hiding" as thats how it seems to have been refered to more recently on this forum.

There are many steps, but basically ill just be making the 3 verify the bankruptcy which they wont actually be able to because the courts do not verify.

Obviously it is fraud if you lie about it on a mortgage or other application where it may specifically ask about your bankruptcy history, which I do not intend to do.

Can you get into NFCU? Their SSL is great. Your not going to hide a BK. And disputing will kill your scores even more. If it says IIB and $0 balance. Theres nothing to dipute. Successful rebuild will be just fine. Hold off on a new car for a year to get better finance rates. Plus let the crazy car market calm down with this chip shortage. You buy now and then here comes the chips and proces will drop.

The CRA's dont look for court cases. Third parties that the CRA's hire tell them when a BK is filed. The UTube junk is just that. We'd all be millionaires if it was all legit. Thats all I'll say. Talking about about removing such things on here is against the TOS. Good luck but it wont happen.

I have not tried to yet, I believe I may qualify due to my grandfather but not sure what all information I would need to apply so I will look into that.

Althernatively would the Self route be a good way to go right now on the chance I cannot get into NFCU?

I'm just trying to get it off the credit report itself, I know I cannot hide it from Public Records, from what i've seen it can significantly raise your score and since they cannot readd it...

I do actually have a few things I need to dispute including an incorrect name, a few addresses, and some incorrectly reporting items after the bankruptcy.  Which is why I was thinking CreditVersio since they walk you through/write the letters for you.
But was gravitating towards the MyFico Premier to pull accurate credit reports monthly since you can get the letters free all over the internet.

As far as the car market, definitely in no rush to get back into a new car, I will be watching it through 2022 to see how it goes.
While we're on that subject, is CapOne the go to for post bankruptcy auto loans at reasonible rates?

Ah thank you I did not realize that, did not really want to talk to much about it anyways so that works.

I'm sorry but none of that is accurate.  You absolutely cannot remove or 'hide' a BK from your credit report.  A Ch13 will be there 7 years and a Ch7 will be there for 10, there's nothing you can do that will change that.  And as @FireMedic1 said, discussion of trying to do that is against the TOS here and for good reason, because it cannot legally be done, so I highly doubt there are discussions on this forum about doing it.

You can do plenty to rebuild your credit the right way and as time goes by, the BK will affect things less and less.  You just have to suffer through it like everyone else that filed BK had to do, there is no such thing as a 'quick fix' and anyone that tells you that it can be done is selling you snake oil.

Re: Looking for wisdom

I was about to say.

The only people I have heard talk about "hiding" or "removing" a BK from reports are those "credit expert" guys on Youtube that try to sell people "credit rebuilding" packages. But as far as I know this is highly unlikely to work AND illegal. Hence the reason the "main" Youtube "expert" on this matter keeps changing his company name and creating new channels every so often, after scamming a bunch of people out of thousands of dollars.

Also, for what I can tell after looking into this subject is that some of the "quick" fixes these guys talk about are temporary. It seems to be nothing more than "quick fixes" some people use to boost their scores right when they are about to apply for something. But with the intrduction of the new FICO model that will soon come to an end. This is what I have gathered from what I have read.

Re: Looking for wisdom

Sounds good, we're not allowed to discuss it anyways apparently even though it is covered a few times on this forum.

I'm completely ok with working on the rest of my questions and original post, instead of 1 sentence.

Thank you guys, I appriciate it.
