If I ever had any doubt about how great a credit union Navy Federal is, those doubts were smashed to bits last Tuesday morning! Like many of you here, I have been rebuilding my credit after making the decision to file Chapter 7 earlier this year. Once I was discharged in April, I applied for a CapOne card and was given a 1k credit limit. My scores were averaging 560 or so. After 2 months, I went to 2k. In May I apped for a NFCU credit card after having been a member for 3 weeks. I was given a CL of $500. I tried for a CL increase after 3 months and was declined. I was discouraged. The rep told me the bankruptcy played a part and they like to see good payments for at least 6 months. I thought she was blowing smoke up my behind cuz I've read where others have received generous CLIs 3 months after discharge. Patience is definitely NOT my strong point but I kept piddling along. I also had a credit rebuilder loan with them around this time. Last month I was approved for a 1k checking line of credit as well. I used that cc limit to my advantage, made my payments on time, and just waited. My statement just cut yesterday so I went in this am and applied for a CLI. I asked for the max amount. I almost died from shock when I was approved... I went from a 500CL to 12,500!!! Definitely not what I was expecting but I definitely gave all the glory to GOD!!! I say all this to say, I know its hard but be patient and stay in your own lane. Don't let the success of others discourage you. Your time will come. Just Do U Boo!!!
I have had no luck with NFCU... yes they gave me a $500 SL back in July, and i have been using it and paying in full each month, still no increase. I have wasted literally 8 hard pulls since applying for an increase and CLOC. At first they gave me a reason: Account too new, to Denied due to BK. I don't get their logic... oh well. My BK will be one year this December and I have rebuilt pretty well. Congratz though!!! Sorry, just venting..lol
Oh, and my score had increased by 40 points since.
Could income be the problem? Do you mind sharing your income? I only ask because I only make 35K a year, and I wonder if my limits will eventually look the same as everyone else's or not.

I make about $60k a year, no rent or car payment.... just student loans that are deferred $200 a month, and my cards are all zero balances except for one merrick bank $300 ... total utilization is prolly under 10% .. low limit cards due to rebuilding

Don't be discouraged, you've read it many times before it takes time and patience.
