I filed for Chapter 7 on 8/28. Since then my mailbox is overflowing with envelopes with "BANKRUPTCY" this and "BANKRUPTCY" that. I realize this is a public matter, but I think my mailman now knows what is up..Haha They are all trying to sell me the 2nd debt management course required for discharge or trying to get me into a new car while I'm in bankruptcy. I've heard that once you file the car dealers are all over you trying to sell you a car even before discharge. Ironically today I also got an application for a Citi AA card, the same one I'm burning. The system must be a bit delayed! I'm curious to see what I get in the mail tomorrow.
my mail stopped as fast as it started..Not sure why but I do not get anything anymore I was just discharged in August
Same thing with me, my mail was popping the first month up to 341A meeting then after that nothing
Everyone sends you crap to try to get you right back to debt once you file. I have been discharged just over 2 months and I still get crap about daily. I did need a car but I waited till after discharge and got a way better rate than I could of during bankruptcy but the dealers will say the best rates happen while open bankruptcy which is far from the truth. I shred most the stuff as I have my couple cards already and gardening till next spring.
I was discharged in July and I still get Bankruptcy approved car loan offers from dealerships and uber high fee ridden credit card offers in the mail. I wonder when I am going to get my first discover or capital one preapproval. I guessing in a year or two.
I haven't gotten any credit card offers but I locked my files forever with the credit bureaus for promotional purposes.
All of my bankruptcy spam has been really terrible car deals, and there seems to be 1-2 a week now a month post-discharge. Between filing and discharge it was about half a dozen per week.
It's easier to just toss it in the recycle bin at the post office than it is to try to stop it, honestly.
Although I did file a Postal Prohibitory Order against some of the mailers which scared them off from sending me anything else without having to do anything else. Technically, you have to tell the post office you consider it sexually obscene and a pandering advertisement, but Rowan v. United States Post Office Department aid that's up to you, what you consider as such.
Also, the post office has financial problems of its own, so hey, the bankruptcy spam is revenue for them, right?
After a year it will slow down. I dont get anything any longer 5 yrs out. My stack was about 3 feet high if i kept them all. Especially the vulture your approved cards.
