My ch7 journey just began, After the 341 Meeting.......

Hello Everyone, I have been following this forum and it's by far the best place to learn about anything and everything related credit. WHich is awesome.
I filed for my BK about 6 weeks ago, had the meeting last week, it was no asset closed.
As everyone else in my shoes here pretty much have same questions and concerns, I'm also very eager to learn about the going forward path.

Based on what I have read I was able to check Pre-qualify for cap1 and to my surprise they approved me for a 3k Platinum MC no AF.

Cap1 was included (IIB)
other accounts (IIB) are
Chase, BOA, Barclays, PenFed,Citi,Commenity(sportsman and total reward)Sycronny (Amazon), FNBO, CAp1, TD, ALLY, Discover.

I am still an AU on a previous Discover card through a family member which is still active with about 8k limit.

Few Questions:
Target needs 12 months post discharge even If it wasn't IIBK ?
(is it a good card for rebuild ? SP for CLI?)
Andrew Federal CU
(I just Joined them, any clue about their product)
Santander?
BMO harris any of their products?
( I have a previous open Checking account with them, never got a CC)

Thanks everyone in advance.

You really should wait until your are discharged before rebuilding and applying for any cards  . Credit rebuild takes time , it's a marathon not a race. Many have seen their scores improve after discharge which give you better choices to rebuild .

congrats on your path to being financially free. As previous stated I would wait to apply for credit until discharge or at least make sure your getting permission from the trustee. Also, I thought venture was a minimum line of 5k?

@Jnbmom

thank you for your input, I realized I rushed into it. I'll wait for now until I receive my official discharge letter. I only went ahead because I read on this forums few people had done the same not necessarily makes it the right thing at this point I realized.

@sihmud

I guess since I have rushed into applying for venture I left 2k on the table hopefully I can make up bu using it responsibly in the future. Thank you for your input as well.

Did you apply for the venture1 for excellent credit or venture1 for good credit? Did it come with a 0%APR intro?

I applied with build credit and I don't think it came with 0%APR

@sihmud
Actually after double checking it turned out it's cap1 platinum not venture I got confused with blue color.

@PeaceMaker1

I'll be honest I'm not too familiar with the banks or CU's you mentioned. Also not too familiar with target red card (never had one)

If I were you I'd do some research on local credit unions that are BK friendly. If you can join navy federal I'd strongly recommend them. Mercury Mastercard, ollo and mission lane are all good starter cards. After discharge you'll most likely see them appear in your credit karma account.
