Plan Base is $107K. Total Paid to all Parties is $98K. Balance On Hand is $2,334.00. Case Status is ABOUT TO COMPLETE. When I look at the Claim Summary, Balance Owed column, I total up approx. $3,400.00. My question is, the difference between Plan Base and Total Paid in so far is roughly $9,000.00, but the balance owed on summary is much less. Clearly I'm missing something here. Filing date was 9/29/2009, so I'm approaching 60 months (at $778.00 garnished from my paycheck every 2 weeks since then). I guess I'm also wanting to know what to expect as I get down to these last few months. I'm so anxious and excited, I can hardly breathe! It has been one long road, for SURE. Thanks in advance for any and all responses and advice!!! ![]()
I had the same issue. Make sure to include the full amount you owe to the Trustee in your calculations. Also, things change over the course of your BK and I'm not sure these changes are always reflected in the datacenter.
You need to talk to your lawyer prior to making that last payment. He/she will file paperwork on your behalf. You will also need to complete the stupid BK e-training. Once you send your last payment and your lawyer requests a discharge the Trustee will initiate an audit of your account. This takes time. If all is in order, the Trustee will post a document saying you have met all the terms of your BK and the court will rescind the order docking your wages. You then get to wait for the magic papers saying your case has been succefully discharged.
Hope this helps! Good luck!
All helpful information. One last quesetion (I hope!) Before we filed initially, our lawyer made us go through the online debt counseling thing, which I thought was a pre-requisite of filing. Is there another one we'll have to do??

Yep there is a pre-bk counseling and a post-bk, in ch7 anyways. I would assume ch13 is the same.
