Need some input on possible bankruptcy.

I just need some advice. For years I thought bankruptcy was such a bad thing to get into and after 5 years or being responsible with my credit I never thought I would get to this point. After two collection credit cards at 19 I turned my situation around. A year ago my score was 656 with experian. I had a loan on a car paid it off in under three years. Three credit cards with $10,000 and 5,000 and 300 limits.Three retail shopping cards and one medical credit card. Things seemed really great I was being responsible.

And then after moving back into my parents place I moved out after three years. And it just seems like things just fell apart from there. I applied for a unsecured loan of 2900 to help with moving and another of 1200 to visit my parents for Christmas. After getting a new job I thought this could still work but it's not any more. I am struggling so bad right now. I have a little girl and her father decided to stop sending money for her and I have soaked up all my savings as of March. I've decided to pick up a night job just to bring in extra income and I'm not lookin forward to it. It's like every two weeks I'm looking online to find a loan or something. Ive become so desperate and forgot being responsible with my credit and have applied for anything and everything. I'm realizing the more I do this the more mess I get into. So I found this site and asking for advice.
Right now I'm at least 27000 I debit with unsecured loans, retail cards and etc. I am trying to make payments but I'm falling behind really bad. For some if I don't pay this month that might be it. I did cosign on a auto loan for my brother. And I also have almost 38,000 of student loans that I have been referring for almost two years and can not do it any more now. I have talked to debt consolidaters and they said they wouldn't be able to help me. I have tried applying for $7,000 just about every where to just pay off high interest rate loans and get caught up on bills. My credit score has fallen to 485 now. and it looks like there is no hope.

Im debating on filling for bankrupt but I'm curious on how life vegans after that. I plan on moving in about 6 months and I'm wondering if filling will hinder getting a apartment or a place to rent. I have had my car for almost 6 years and in about 2 years will probably be looking to get a new car.
I'm just curious on every ones perspective. I know everyone's situation was different. I turn 26 next month and thought a year ago that when I turned 30 I would be purchasing my first home. So it's troubling to be where I'm at. Am I too young to apply? Would it affect the car loan that I cosign with? Is my debt not enough to file? I was told student loans are not included when you file is this true? I'm really ok with that I worked hard to get through school just wish I could that back right now and everything else. Please share your experience or insight.

Re: Need some input on possible bankruptcy.

Many people have been in the same boat as you, including myself. Through the denial, thinking they can "catch up" or whatever, next month i'll be better. I put off for 5 years what i should have done earlier, CC's were my undoing.. Now im debt free no CC balances, and i dont worry about what comes in the mail anymore, although the 1st year is really rough, having almost 0 credit at that point... good luck and seek help thru a good atty..

Re: Need some input on possible bankruptcy.

My suggestion would be to get in contact with a reputable bk attorney right away.  There is life after bk.  I filed June, 2014 and my life has been so much better.  One of the best decisions I had to make.  By the time you turn 30 there is still hope that you will qualify to purchase a home.

I wish you the best.

Thank you for the wealth of knowledge I have learned from these forums. I am logging off as of November 9, 2022. I wish everyone great success.

Thank you both for the input. I've been doing some work trying to figure out who to use. I told my Mom about it and as many she thinks its not a good idea. But I need some relief.
