i was a co borrower on my sons 2014 auto loan through chase auto finance. the car was involved in a BK 13 in november 2017. the car payments were not made to a trustee but to chase auto directly. the auto has been paid off since march 2019. chase says the car was involved in the BK but according to the bk attorney it was excluded and payments conintued to chase as normal. chase has a red BK on the payment history for nov 2017. that is bringing down my scores somewhat.
can this be removed from the credit reports since its paid off? it will be PIF 3 years this coming march. august 2021 made 7 years since account opening. no late payments ever.
i was thinking of disputing it to have it removed but not sure if i can yet. i dont want to stir up a hornets nest and have them do something to make this worse.
*edit* this account is not listed on TU. it is on EX & EQ.
thanks guys....

How do you know it is affecting your scores? Looking at your signature your scores are really close to each other.
Account removal is based on the closed date, the open date means nothing. If the reporting is correct than it will be 7 years from 11/17 that the negative information is removed. If the account was closed in good standing, then after 11/22 the account will be positive for an additional 3 years before falling off.
