PSA Don't try for Amazon card if you included them in BK and just DC'd

Is it worth trying to Recon since before BK I was NEVER late with a payment?

Was your Amazon card with Chase or Synchrony? How much did you burn them for?

It was for approx 4500$ I burned them for through Synchrony. I'm probably blacklisted from them now....I had a LOT of synchrony cards. I'll just wait for my Credit One card I was approved for yesterday and put the subscription here I plan to get onto it and PIF each month for now.

Yup. Synchrony HP'd me then decliend me claiming I burned them which is not 100% true. I had a zero balance when I filed for BK but they were notified and closed my account.

If I had to do it all over again I would have taken a more actice role in my BK. The paralegal my attorney used just pulled my credit report and put everyone on it in the "notice to creditors" doucment you have to fill out.

Amazon/Syncrhony was notified and closed my account. Fast forward to this year when I'm rebuilding I apped them and the rejection letter I recieved said reason "included in BK". How can you inlcude $0 in BK? So now Amazon is no beueno for me....sigh.

Synchrony Bank has some different critera
You WILL NOT get approved out of the gate for a card fresh out of bankruptcy
It may take 6-13 months

You will be denied up to 13 months from account charge off/close date (if you were current before bankruptcy then you have to wait 13 months)

Synch seems to like 600+ scores

I applied and got in 2 years post discharge.   My credit limit right now is 10K.   I burned them for 1K in the BK7.   I did not apply before that so I can't say whether I would have been approved or declined.

What does that Amazon/Synchrony account say on your credit report? Closed by credit granter, or Included in BK?

I had a Lowes/Sync account with $0 balance in my 2010 BK7 but included other Synchrony accounts with fairly large balances, so when they received those notices they closed Lowes, but it just says "Closed by credit grantor" on my credit report. I was approved for a Walmart/Synch account 2 years post discharge, they might have approved me sooner but I wasn't in a hurry to rebuild. I was also approved for a new Lowes account 4 years post discharge, small starting limit but is now $10k, as is Walmart & PayPal 2% Cashback MC. They also approved me for an Amazon store card 3 years post discharge but I closed it in less than a year, I'm not a big Amazon shopper.
