I read somewhere on this forum that if you burned capital one and applied, if they denied you they wouldn't ding you with a hard pull. So I applied today 5 months from discharge and they pulled both EXPERIAN and TransUnion.
I should have known better but I pulled the trigger and got bitten.
I know to stay away from all credit apps now and just let my one year anniversary happen.
Double check and triple check facts before pulling the trigger guys.
Before you pull the trigger. Got to check the pr-quals. They arent always 100%. But close. Cap1 likes over 6 months to a year. But they are the most forgiving.
CORRECTION!!!!
They pulled all three credit bureaus on me. I'm so sad right now.
😭
Amex won't pull if you are blacklisted but I haven't seen the same with cap one , they always pull all 3 .
Thats how Cap1 operates. Theres Open Sky and Merrick to get things going.

This used to be true, and was the case for me at least 6x. Sorry it's changed since then.
Folks are right about the pre-qual. When CapOne was finally ready for me 4 1/2 years post discharge (I was blacklisted for an usually long time for some reason) it showed up in the pre-qual and I was approved for a $5k Savor.
Wife and I both burned CapitalOne in our BK7 filing. Believe hers was under $1K and I was over $5K, thy even filed a lawsuits against me.
We received our discharge this past June 15th and our reports are clean with accounts showing up as IIB.
Prequals said we qualified for the Platinum, QS, and Secured.
I played it safe and got approved for the Secured card, $49 deposit and $200 CL. Wife was approved for the Platinum with $300 CL.
Wow, I have even established other credit and have a 5 month history of on time no balance left payments.
Kudos to you though for getting back in. It's a dead dog to me now. I'll never let them pull 3 reports on me again.
Capital One was included in my Chapter 7. I waited approximately 9 months after my discharge before applying for a Capital One card and got it with a limit of $3,500. Just give them time they will eventually let you back in. I also got the Wells Fargo card about 2 months after discharge but it was a secured card for $500.00. After 6 months of on time payments they release the secured card and gave me a regular card. I now only have 2 major cards, no store cards and no loans. My Chapter 7 bankruptcy will be 2 years in January 2021! Also they only pulled Experian.
