Printing report after Discharge

How long after my discharge should I wait to print my Credit Report to make sure everything is reporting accurately?

Re: Printing report after Discharge

Generally speaking, I would wait at least one month after discharge for everything to update and report correctly. If you find errors after that, then I would start addressing them. During the bankruptcy procedings, your credit reports will be in flux and potentially all over the place.

Some people will say right away and to start disputing anything not $0 bal/IIB right away. While proactive, I think this can be spinning your wheels because things are still in the process of updating. I waited about a month and had I think everything except 1 account was reporting correctly.

Re: Printing report after Discharge

As others have said give them a month or two to update reporting.  After that pull your credit and see what it says.  If you can't wait there are plenty of places that offer free credit reports (Credit Karma, VantagScore) that will show you your report and how it is listed.

Re: Printing report after Discharge

I filed for chapter 13. In August 2017 and after a couple months qualified for chapter 7. Discharged on Tuesday so my credit report according to credit karma says IIB chapter 7 and payment plan chapter 13. I’ll probably wait until credit karma say all chapter 7 before I pull it
